About Gheorghe Muresan
At 7’7”, Gheorghe Muresan played in the NBA for seven seasons earning the most Improved Player Award in 1995-1996. Drafted in 1993 by the Washington Wizards (Bullets), Gheorghe learned to use his 7’10” arm span to dominate around the basket. A native of Romania, Gheorghe led the NBA in field goal percentage during the 1996-1997 season.
Before being drafted by the Bullets, Gheorghe averaged 18.7 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 2.8 blocked shots while playing professionally in France. Remarkably, Gheorghe’s talents extend beyond the basketball court. In 1998, he co-starred with Billy Crystal in the film “My Giant”.

Join GBA for our Year-Round Fall, Winter and Spring Programs
Watch for upcoming details on our fall programs in three central locations, Montgomery, Loudoun and Prince George’s Counties. An exciting eight week program combining weekly games and skill development. Programs start September 24th and will be for three age groups: 6-8 (co-ed) 9-11 (boys) Ages 12-13 (boys).
This winter we will once again be offering our popular boys competitive winter league. This year the program will be offered for sixth and seventh grade boys in Montgomery, Loudoun and Prince George’s Counties. This winter we will also be offering a co-ed winter’s league for 6-8 year olds and 9-11 year old boys.
